“Your word is truth” (John 17:17).
“In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth” (Genesis 1:1). God proceeded to form the atmosphere, heavenly bodies, land, and seas. He created all living things, including man and woman. The more we observe the earth through a truly scientific lens and methodology, the more we can see the truth of the creation account in the Bible. This truth cannot be hidden by the big lie of evolution.
Sadly, many still believe the lie of the evolutionary hypothesis. Some try to label this as a theory, but a theory is one step below a scientific law. Therefore, a theory would need to present little opposition and have solid supporting data. Evolution cannot boast of that fact. This is more of a theological discussion and less of science since the hypothesis relies heavily on speculation rather than provable science. But sticking to the science component, I can say that I was inundated with evolution as a fact versus a theory while in school. Since I was never provided with an alternative theory to discuss or research, I adopted it as plausible and moved on. Beginning in my college years, I was introduced to the “scientific methodology.” This method is what all science is supposed to use. The methodology consists of a hypothesis, experiment design, experiment, observed results, and objective reporting of those results. Additionally, the results are to be replicable and observable by other scientists utilizing the same processes.
My enhanced curiosity led me to also look back at the history that impacted the theory of evolution. The theory was not the brainchild of Darwin, as we have been informed. Thales, Anaximander, Epicurus, and even Aristotle postulated the theory. Interestingly, Aristotle retracted his support and called it speciation and adaptation rather than an evolutionary process. Darwin, however, took the prior theories and manipulated his observations and findings to fit his hypothesis. Classic inductive reasoning. He was more interested in proving his hypothesis on favored races than in allowing science to guide.
Darwin’s view of man and the world influenced another atheist of the time, Karl Marx. Darwin’s original work was titled On the Origin of Species by Means of Natural Selection or The Preservation of Favoured Races in the Struggle for Life. Today, and when I was in school, we were only taught the title as “On the Origin of Species.” However, as the original title points out, the work focused on eugenics. It was to categorize some “races” as lesser beings because of their “evolutionary” path. I also obtained a reprint of Marx’s original Communist Manifesto. It becomes abundantly clear that the two theories became a cornerstone for each other. This formed the Marxist critical theories that we have seen play out in the past and are seeing today (critical women’s theory, critical race theory, LGBTQ, etc.).
In reading his original works, it is not difficult to see that Darwin attempted to use some scientific methodology, but could not develop an observable or replicable experiment. Therefore, he had to base his entire theory on assumptive “science,” where he reverse-engineered observations made on a few visits to Easter Island. The largest failing of his process is that there are no observable species with complete or in-process transfiguration to another species. Therefore, his thoughts and projections were not observable, just his assumed results. Not to mention that the experiments were not repeatable because the timeline is not plausible. These basic facts also implicate the 2nd Law of Thermodynamics. If science accepts this law, then scientists would need to either set the law aside or reject the evolutionary theory. They can’t have competing laws.
Further, as science advanced, we would have expected to see DNA and chromosomal mapping and other discoveries that could further support Darwin’s assumptions of species evolving. We have seen quite the opposite. The scientific and archeological records have been unable to support any extra-species development. We do not have a chromosomal map between apes and man, for example, and we do not have the “missing link” that Leaky and others sought. Over the past two decades, the human genome has been mapped, yet no supporting evidence has been provided in support of Darwin’s theory.
Why then do schools, churches, and culture hold on to this obvious fallacy? Because it is atheistic in its origin and allows minds to deny the Creator. If their pet theory (aka evolution) cannot be proven with scientific methods, then they would need to consider God and His design of creation, and for their lives. Sin and hell become real while “their truth” has to become subservient to The Truth. As leaders in the church, we must stand firm on what God has already proven and what we can observe in His scientific creation (2 Corinthians 10:3-5). We need to teach our children and grandchildren to think critically and use all available information (1 Thessalonians 5:21-22). By directing the bright light of truth on this one big lie, we can correct a 175-year-old deception and impact Kingdom growth. The harvest field is great, and as workers, we need to spread The Truth. Today is a great day to start.
