Unfortunately, today’s church and our culture do not understand the spiritual realm. Because of that, I have been prompted again to point out that there is only one God, Elohim (1 Timothy 2:5). There is not “your god” or “my God.” If a person claims to be an atheist, they have a god character they worship; it is deception, sometimes born of pride. It is displayed in performative ignorance where, rather than seeking truth through critical thinking, the atheist reacts and responds based on a limited fund of knowledge. This performative ignorance is not academic ignorance, because many of these people are quite smart by academic standards. Their performance is exacerbated by a lack of desire to investigate and find the truth about the spiritual realm. There is a fear in them that if their atheism is proven to be false, a foundational piece of their being has died. They are unwilling to accept that their life will be enhanced by accepting the truth.
Similarly, expanding on the one God thesis, there is one satan, not yours vs mine. Even if a person claims to be an atheistic satanist or an atheistic pagan, they have become a performer in satan’s plan. Satan tries to remain hidden. If he can do that, he will keep the atheist distracted by arguments to justify their belief. This same apologetic argumentation works whether the doubter is theistic or atheistic in their satanic and pagan beliefs. An atheistic satanist does not believe that satan is a god but a spirit to worship. The atheistic pagan believes similarly in a “spirit” and often worships the created rather than the creator. Satan, who is the spirit in both cases, keeps them from exploring the truth. Hence, we have failed arguments of your truth versus my truth. This is just another lie, as there is one truth (John 17:17). Ask a theistic satanist if there is a real satan and hell; you will receive an emphatic yes, perhaps in another voice. They have seen the reality. Their performative ignorance is based on a rejection of God’s truth, not a rejection of the opportunity to explore truth. The dark realm exists and tries to distract, veil, and deceive.
Regardless of whether a person believes in God the Father and His Son, Jesus Christ, both are real. The Bible, supported by 1st-century history and archaeology, demonstrates their existence. For the atheist to deny God or satan is a futile attempt based on flawed logic and semantics. The Bible is clear: believe in God and His Son (John 14:1). Accepting Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord is the only path to salvation and a secure eternity (John 14:6). To deny Christ is to fall under satan’s control, whether the atheist, pagan, or satanist believes in satan as a literal being.
The believer must also remain vigilant of satan’s wiles (1 Peter 5:8). We are told to be wise as serpents and gentle as doves (Matthew 10:16). When satan and his minions attempt to get you into compromising discussions on loving all, breaking laws, removing borders, etc., we must stand on the Word of God, not feelings or cultural relevance. Christ is our only true north, and His Word does not change, nor does He leave us (Hebrews 13:5).
